Security status and Sectors
![]() What makes low sec and null sec (0.0 space) so different from High sec? The law aka Concord and consequences (security status hits). High sec for the most part is fairly safe, If someone just ups and shoots you for no apparent reason Concord will fly in with guns a blazing and blast them to bits and they will get a nasty security status hit. With low sec Concord will not come to your rescue you are on your own however a people still take security status hits when they kill another player. 0.0 space is totally lawless, well the players are the law, this means you can shoot anyone and anyone can shoot you and concord will not come to your aid and there are no consequences for attacking someone. Low sec is also used by factional warfare. You will have to travel through low sec to reach 0.0 space there are very few times that you can go from high sec into 0.0 space, one is through a wormhole.

Traveling
If you are traveling from high to null sec, looking for pvp or just
exploring and doing missions or escalations don't forget that there are people who want
to blow you up, the universe is a dangerous place! When traveling solo through low sec and 0.0 there can be many dangers but there are ways to make it a bit more safe while you are traveling. You should never fly anything you can not afford to lose if you do and lose the ship it might take months to replace your ship depending on your wallet.
Before you warp to an stargate you should be using your ships directional scanner or D scan. This is an very important tool that if you don't use you should, it will provide you with valuable information about what is around you in space. (Directional Scan Guide) For instance It can show you if anyone has placed warp bubble near the stargate or if there is anyone at a stargate. After you have determined a gate is safe to jump to do so but not stargate to stargate as people can jump through while you are in warp and set up a gate camp fairly quickly. Best thing to do is to warp to a celestial behind or to the side of the stargate you are wanting and jump through from that point. You have jumped through, If you are in an alliance you might have access to Intel channels this will be very important when traveling to and from your alliance held space. Intel will give you a heads up of what to expect on the way however if you don't have this option or you are flying in enemy Territory you have no idea what is on the other side, there could be a gate camp bubble or an entire fleet. Say there is someone on the gate what do you do? Don't Panic!!! you have a short time before you uncloak from jumping through the gate to figure out what your options are. Sometimes there is nothing to be done but try to warp away from the gate and hope they don't get a lock. depending on the ship you are flying you might be able to engage them and fend them off. you can also use warp stabilizers to negate the effects of warp disruptor and warp scrams. When flying a covert ops ship it is a little easier to get away as you can point in a direction away from who ever it is hit your afterburner or micro warp drive push off the gate and hopefully you will be 2000m away from anything so you can cloak up then warp to a celestial. |
